Lavender is available as a U-pick option (only) from our production field in Seafoam, Nova Scotia, for a period of about ten days, usually sometime in mid-July. That is an approximate window, as a number of factors (especially spring weather conditions…precipitation, sunshine, temperature, etc.) affect availability and timelines. Please follow postings on our Facebook page for the latest information about U-Pick operations.
The short answer to this question is: regrettably no, we do not sell lavender bouquets. This is due to a number of reasons, first and foremost is the lavender we harvest ourselves is needed to make our products. With only about a two- to three-week window to harvest all the lavender buds and blossoms needed for a year's worth of production, we are in "full-bore" mode from sunrise to sunset harvesting as much lavender as possible to transform into our 67+ finished products. HOWEVER, we invite you to join us during the harvest season to pick your very own bouquets.
Generally no — unless there happen to be some plants in bloom during the U-Pick. Harvesting outside the ten-day window of the U-Pick is by exception only (please contact us to find out if this is possible). Also: unfortunately, lavender blossoms are extremely perishable (stems last for only one or two days after they've been picked). As an alternative to fresh flowers, we strongly urge you to harvest BUD bouquets and dry them (we tell you how to do this -- it's easy!). Bud bouquets take about one week to dry.
We invite the public to harvest their own lavender bouquets. It takes approximately 20-30 minutes to harvest a one-inch bouquet. We supply everything you need: scissors, harvesting instructions, a measuring tool, etc. We charge based on the size of the bouquet you harvest ($5.00 + tax per one-inch bouquet, as measured at the base of the stems). The charge for lavender U-Pick is quite reasonable -- just $5.00 + tax for every one inch diameter, as measured at the end of the stems. A one-inch bouquet contains approximately 75 stems. Please check in at the information booth or the cashier's counter inside the Visitors' Centre for additional information. We provide everything you need: scissors, a measuring tool, instructions on where/how to harvest and dry the lavender stems, and rubber bands to tie the stems together.
Yes, our products are made with plant-, mineral-, honey bee (apiary)-, or dairy-derived ingredients. We use lavender and witch hazel as natural preservatives. And we never use synthetic perfumes or suspected carcinogens (such as parabens or SLS).
Seafoam Lavender Company uses plant-derived ingredients in all of our products. We do not use any ingredients or by-products made from killed animals. We do use locally-sourced ingredients made by animals such as beeswax, honey, butter, and goat's milk in some of our products. Our products have not been tested on animals.

We colour our soaps with ultramarine, which is derived from charcoal, sulfur, and kaolin clay (and sometimes sand is also added). These natural minerals are baked under extreme high heat to produce a fine powder which (depending on the ratio of ingredients) produces various shades of green, blue, and purple.
We add a very small quantity of "coarse" titanium dioxide, a naturally-occurring, white mineral which reflects the rays of the sun. Coarse titanium dioxide is safe and effective at deflecting and absorbing ultraviolet (UV) light and protecting the skin.
These products have not been tested to determine their SPF rating, so therefore we do not make any specific SPF claims.
Culinary and household products have no established expiration date, nor do the essential oils or sprays, as long as they are stored away from heat sources and direct sunlight. Creams and lotions, on the other hand, should be used within one year after purchase (or one year after you break the internal product safety seal, whichever comes first) to ensure optimum freshness.
The answer depends on how they are stored. Sachets, if stored away from airflow (e.g. in a drawer or pillowcase) should retain their aroma for at least one year. You can “refresh” the smell by squeezing the buds to release more essential oil. As for the dryer bags and eye pillows, when they lose their aroma, you can refresh them by dripping about 10 drops of essential oil onto each side of the cotton bag and then sealing it in an air-tight container (like a Zip-Lock bag) for about 20 minutes. [Note: the "cotton bag" must be removed from inside the eye pillow cover before applying the lavender essential oil].

Shipping is a flat-rate of CAD$13.50 + applicable sales tax to any destination in Canada, regardless of size or weight of the parcel. Shipping to the U.S. is a flat-rate of $18.00 Canadian dollars, no tax, regardless of the size/weight of the parcel or its destination. So you, the customer, pay the first $13.50/$18.00, and any cost above that amount, we pay.
If you wish to return a product, please contact us immediately after receiving your order to discuss. We're sorry, but culinary products cannot be returned under any circumstances.
