Ground Cherry

Physalis pruinosa

Tasting like a cross between a tomato and a grape, these sweet fruits are our go-to snack all summer long! They produce endlessly from July til the frost. You will know the fruit is ripe when it falls off the plant (hence the name ground cherry)! Note: each ground cherry fruit is encased in a papery husk, which is easy to remove before eating.

Plants are for local pickup from late May - early July. We do not ship plants.
