Salvia rosmarinus (formerly Rosmarinus officinalis)

A close relative of lavender, rosemary has similar uses in cooking. This is a powerhouse herb for flavouring roasted/barbecued vegetables, meat, and fish. Not cold-hardy in Nova Scotia, but can be potted up indoors as a houseplant.
