Annual

Solanum lycopersicum

All of the tomato varieties we sell are those which we've grown for ourselves for several years, so we can attest to their performance in Nova Scotia gardens. All should produce fruit in <80 days from planting out in the garden. Please see 'Additional Product Info' for details about each variety.

Plants are for local pickup from late May - early July. We do not ship plants.

Beefmaster: enormous 400-500 g beefsteak tomato, great for slicing and grilling. Indeterminate variety (needs sturdy stake and regular pruning) that will produce until the frost.

Burpee Big Boy: lovely, round, medium sized slicer tomatoes the perfect size for burgers. Indeterminate variety (needs sturdy stake and regular pruning) that will produce until the frost.

Patio: a compact variety ideal for container gardens. Produces small tomatoes (approx. 100 g) ideal for salads. Determinate variety (tomato cage will be an adequate support) that will produce a large flush of tomatoes in late summer.

San Marzano: a several-hundreds-of-years old heritage variety of sauce tomato. We find them to be more disease resistant and more flavourful than Roma tomatoes. Indeterminate variety (needs sturdy stake and regular pruning) that will produce until the frost.

Sun Sugar: a bright orange cherry tomato with the sweetest flavour we've ever found. Seriously, they taste like candy. Superb for salads and sauces - if they even make it into the house without being eaten, that is! Indeterminate variety (needs sturdy stake and regular pruning) that will produce until the frost.
